Not dosa at Dosa

I tend not to take pictures of food unless there’s a story or something remarkable about the dish, but if the light is right…

Bagara Baingan curry at Dosa

This is the Bagara Baingan curry (thus, “not a dosa“) from Dosa on Valencia, which specializes in South Indian Cuisine. A dosa, I’ve learned, is basically a crepe made from rice and black lentils.

I prefer the dosa at Udupi Palace, which is a couple doors down. In fact, now that you mention it, I wasn’t sure what to have for dinner tonight…

I love that there are two “South Indian” restaurants within a few doors of each other. That is such a city thing. Indian food is probably one of my favorite types of food period, so it was nice to experience a regional variation on the theme.

oh yes, thats a “city thing” – to taste indian food..a guess its easier for me to travel to india ;-)) i am just kidding, but to eat sushi i have to drive at least 80 miles :-(. thats real country-bumpkin life !
