Inspiration for a painting
Travis Smith used one of the photos from my Pilot Mountain photos as inspiration for a painting.

No bullet holes, per se. It was pretty old and busted up though. Here’s another view.
What was amazing to me was that it was pretty far away from the roads and somewhat down a hill, definitely off the grassy ridge trail I was on.
If my memory serves, I think I found the car somewhere around here.
That’s pretty cool. But who is Travis Smith?
the greatest painter in all the world? i guess i’m a bit biased being travis smith and all.
Where did you see this car?! Do you think gangsters were in it? Were there bullet holes?! Tell me you checked for bullet holes!
I just came across the forgotten weblink I’d saved which brought me back to this page. The original of this painting still hangs on my son’s wall.
That’s amazing! Thanks for reaching out after all these years. I’d love to update this post with a higher resolution photo of Travis’s painting…perhaps a shot that includes the border/frame of the painting (as it is hanging on the wall)? You can send any photos to me at justincwatt@gmail.com. Thanks!
