Poison oak season
Ever since I posted about my poison oak experience three and a half years ago, I get to watch the poison oak season unfold as people search for it in Google (specifically, Google Images) and end up on my blog. Apparently poison oak activity really picks up in late April, early May—when people start to go outside again.
Google Trends confirms the seasonality of poison oak. It’s not flu trends, but it’s still amazing to see.
I once searched for “poison oak” on Google image search only to have a leprous pair of legs show up as the #1 result. It turns out the legs giving my gag reflex a workout belonged to you. Nice job?
YAY! That was me.
I’m very amused that both you and Ian (a coworker from the Verio/TABNet days (just before I started working for Songline/O’Reilly) have high google ranks for poison oak. I wish I could take credit for this, but alas it is only a coincidence.
