as i type, my dad is in LA undergoing surgery to have a tumor called an ‘acoustic neuroma’ removed from his brain. [Update: surgery is finished, dad is alive, tumor is gone.]

i haven’t written much lately because i’ve been fairly busy with classes (which have started again) and work and friends. this semester is a smattering of different and hopefully interesting courses: intro to cognitive science, advanced world wide web programming (my second attempt), user-interfaces, and internet issues & future initiatives where eric s raymond of ‘open source’ fame will be coming to talk.
