I’m famous! (in a PayPal concept video)
I got a heads up from Jon Cameron the other day letting me know that PayPal had unveiled a concept video outlining their vision of The Future of Shopping—in which my QR Code plays a prominent role. Here are some screenshots from the video.
And the hypothetical finish:
If you’re showcasing a new technology, maybe the marketing department should actually USE the technology – like to make a QR code that goes to their own homepage, or to a dedicated landing page, or something – to show they freakin get it.
It’s not that hard to make your own QR code, especially if you’re touting it. I’m glad you are reaping the benefits of their laziness!
So, when are you going to get a messenger bag or backpack with a QR code pattern:
Eric, ha! Only if they allow custom QR codes! When I have a free moment, I’ll be interested in trying to decode which they used. Hopefully one pointing to http://www.timbuk2.com/ That said, my original Timbuk2
man pursecamera bag seems to be holding up, even after trucking it around the world.Paypal just started in Germany with QR Shopping too. So it is very funny for me to see, how they made their concept video using your QR code. You are really famous now!
FrankM, well, I suppose it depends on your definition of “famous”. This is certainly a very geeky variety of fame.
