A little weekend Vespa porn
The sun came out just long enough this weekend for me to get some good shots.

Brian, yep, those are disc brake locks. The lock goes through a hole in the front disc brake, and the orange cable is there just to remind us to take them off. Unfortunately we don’t have protected or covered parking (we do have covers, for when it rains, if ever), but the Vespas do come with a special ignition microchip anti-theft device.
Joy, some weekend we’ll have to arrange a ride.
Very nice, my last image of you both was on Monday, the day I left, and you were both scooting off down the street to work together with your helmets and jackets on - Stephanie on blue and you on black. Cute, very cute.
Agh! Working on the couch just now I heard a noise outside like something falling on the ground. Looked out the window and saw my scooter on its side. My stomach drops. Stephanie’s was parked elsewhere.
Ran down the stairs, bumping into two homeless guys on the stoop. I immediately suspected them. Picked up my scooter. It’s got its first scratches on the right cowl—which unfortunately show up white. The guys in the parking garage across the street say a car pulling out (or trying to park) tipped it over. Man that sucks.
Tipping it over on its right side, up the hill, is not easy.
Anyways things like this are bound to happen. It’s a tool I have to keep telling myself. An enabler. Exposed to the elements. Not a pristine work of art.
What are those curly cables? Locks? I was wondering how you secure those beauties outside in the big city. :)
