Ooh, ooh, can I go?

Monday=holiday
Tuesdau=School learns that senior/son of our main librarian died in his sleep of unknown causes sunday night. Also an early release day, so 4 angst-fraught hours later, everuone goes home.
Wednesday=Half the school is absent for the funeral and then it starts to snow, school is out at 1pm and it takes 90 harrowing minutes to drive home
Thursday=Wake county students stranded at schools overnight finally get to go home. Also a snow day.
Thursday night-Friday=more snow? more snow day? F*** it, people, let’s just give up trying!

you all had enough snow to get stranded at schools overnight. where were the parents?

damn, it sucks not having gum. i mean, hell i just got that gum the other day and wrote a blog post about it!

The parents, and the schoolbuses, were stuck in traffic for as long as 14 HOURS! I slipped and slid all the way home, dodging stranded cars and accidents.

MY TURN!!!
Monday: boss in holland very sick, so she can’t authorise anything I need to do
Tuesday: Postal strike so I can’t carry on with our guide distribution outside of paris
Wednesday: rail strike, so I can’t carry on with guide distribution INSIDE Paris
Thursday: Teacher’s strike means everyone is off work looking after kids and so I am unable to get in contact with people I need to be in contact with.
Friday: Boss still sick, so I’ve given up and I am spending the day looking for a bike to hire. Going biking in the bois du bougolgne on sunday morning. Very worried about hills.

P.S. Do you know what they were all striking about? the partial privatisation of gas and electricity service. I shit you not. France is so fuckign weird and backwards. People can still go to the state, they just will have the choice of a private supplier. They partly privatised the telecom industry and although you can buy your plan from someone else, you still have to rent the line from france telecom. Fucking weird.
