Wow, it looks like Lenovo’s recently leaked X300 is for real. More info here, here, here, here, and here, as well as an article in BusinessWeek: Building the Perfect Laptop. Launch date is apparently Feb 26.

My fav deets: 13.3″ LED backlit screen with 1440×900 widescreen resolution (WXGA+), and an optional DVD burner, something none of the X-series have had to date! Sounds like it’s going to be a bit pricey though, what with a 64GB solid state hard drive and all.

nice! this is the first brand spankin’ new piece of tech I may actually purchase ASAP (in a very long time anyhow.)

check out how much worse the batt. life performs in vista than xp. lets hope ubuntu is on par with xp. :)

Their battery life breakdown is totally confusing—and not even consistent across XP and Vista. I’m curious if the “option bay battery” is a battery that fits in place of the DVD drive? Or is it some kind of additional dongled external battery…? And how is it possible to use both the extended and the standard battery?

How cool would it be to have both the extended battery, and a battery in place of the DVD drive? I’m curious what that would weigh :)

As cool as it is that they’ve managed to fit a DVD drive in that thing, I managed for years without one on my X23, and could surely continue like that with something new, esp if it shaves off 0.2lbs.
