An afternoon with Angkor Wat

We spent all afternoon on our second day with the guide at Angkor Wat—nearly until sunset. Compared to my first trip, the weather was gorgeous: rich blue skies with beautiful clouds.

Did you get a 3 or 4 day pass? Were you able to go at dawn and at dusk? I spent a few days in Siem Reap and went to the Angkor every day, just to hang out, lunch and joke around with the local kids who were selling papaya. I wonder if they are still there.

Steph L, we got a three day pass, and hired a guide for all three days, something I appreciated from my first visit, and thought would be a useful refresher for me, and imperative for Stephanie. Our guide this time was so-so, and I wished almost that we’d spent only two days with him and one day on our own. We didn’t really do any dawn or dusk visits, but we did spent practically an entire afternoon at Angkor Wat, until it was nearly sunset.
