Ubuntu 9.04, first impressions
Just upgraded to the latest release of Ubuntu tonight, 9.04 (aka Jaunty Jackalope). Chintzy login screen aside, it looks really good.
- I wasn’t prompted to resolve any config file conflicts during the install
- The new Human login screen is really cheesy
- Wireless worked without any madwifi-hal-testing juju
- Screen brightness and volume notifications are much improved
Firefox takes a LONG time to close (bug)This seems to have resolved itself- No more weird video artifacts when maximizing/minimizing windows
- Suspend/Resume still doesn’t work (on my Lenovo X200) but that’s ok, I’ve gotten out of the habit of using it
- Fonts in Terminal are no longer fuzzy
