Jackhammer stencil art

Jackhammer sidewalk stencil art in San Francisco
Perfectly positioned on Polk between Pine and Bush

Update: I finally discovered that the jackhammer stencils all over San Francisco were an obscure promo for Public Works, a gallery/club venue opening at the time.

Is that Banksy? He came through SF and put stuff up recently and it kind of looks like his deal.

The artfulness is very Banksy-esque, but I haven’t gotten confirmation one way or another. If you search for jackhammer stencil you’ll see a number of examples all over town. However, I think this is one of the best in how it utilizes the sidewalk to create a context for the jackhammer figure.

love this kind of streetart ;-)
