I’d actually heard about this from Jay Pipes before, but he didn’t use that term. Seems like a neat idea, though I’m surprised people have deeply nested blog categories.
I’m pretty happy most of my projects have not required storing hierarchical data in an RDBMS.
Heh, yeah, it’s pretty ugly. There’s a neat recursive query syntax in Oracle, but it’s still a bit slow, in my experience.
