Desktop thumbnail icon as sticky note

Desktop thumbnail reminderAt work we have this communal office phone number that I can’t remember for the life of me. So in the spirit of Collectible thumbnail icons (and Lifehacker), I fired up GIMP and created a 96×96 pixel transparent PNG of the phone number that I can leave on my desktop for easy reference. 96 square pixels just happens to be the maximum thumbnail icon size on Ubuntu (Gnome actually), your mileage may vary on Windows XP/Vista or Mac OS X.

Update: Jonathan just showed me how display images as thumbnail icons on Mac OS X. Ctrl+click on the desktop and select “Show View Options”, then check “Show icon preview” and increase the icon size.

It makes me wonder, what else could I store in 96 square pixels?
