A conversation with Bill Gates
I had this very lucid dream just before I woke up about a conversation I was having with Bill Gates.
In my dream, I was trying to convince Bill to make Microsoft turn Windows into a desktop environment (like GNOME, KDE, XFCE) on top of Linux. In essence to scrap all the wasted engineering years they’ve spent in isolation duplicating features of other operating systems, and instead harness the future of Microsoft to the constantly improving body of collaborative work commonly known as Linux.
After seeing John interview Ray Ozzie at Web 2.0, I wish now that I’d gotten up during the short Q&A to ask “What do you think about Ubuntu?”
