I think you still need a court D.N.R. order or at least an advanced directive for it to be viable. I don’t think a tattoo means much in the legal world.

It’s a cool way to make thing clear to the paramedics in case of an emergency.

It is a good idea, however the arriving medics can ignore it UNLESS there is a directive on file with the AMA AND the local medical community. The medic is covered/protected legally if he/she begins heroic measures unless the aforementioned steps have been taken. Keep in mind this doesn’t address the issue if grandma is traveling out of town.

that is so cool, I am a paramedic and i so one just like this one on a male and I was freaking out cause i was still a newbie and I didnt kow what to do. Well I figured out that DNR is not viable for paramedics and we do not listen to any DNR visibly seen. lol I was laughing for days. lol
