Fred is exactly right, this is entirely a liberal issue. Do you want highways? Do you want Subways? Do you want any kind of public good? Then you need to demolish some homes. Period. ok, i understand eminent domain in terms of repurposing private property for public use, but i’m pretty conservative when it comes to taking private property for private development. that smacks of awfulness.
