this is news: the guy behind the excellent electoral-vote.com is andrew s. tenanbaum, the same guy who created minix (a small unix-like os for teaching operating systems to computer science students) and whose refusal to allow people to modify minix, most notably linus torvalds, inadvertantly sparked (or furthered) creation of the linux kernel and the gnu/linux os.
