thank god! i literally have a callous on my pointer finger from the rough (cat tongue like) trackpoint cap. i also didn’t know they were called that. nor ever thought of replacing it. all my problems are solved. thank you.

did you buy any new ones yet? if not, hold off. i’ve got two types: soft dome and soft rim (courtesy of work). they definitely take some getting used to compared to the cat tongue ones. but they cost $16 for 4 at student stores. if you haven’t bought any, i’ll bring you one of each of the ones i got… and the soft ones last closer to forever, compared to the cat tongue ones.
is that really how cat tongues feel?

:) that would be fantastic! i haven’t made a purchase yet. and cat tongues, i think, are actually less rough than the pointer, but very sandpaper-like.
