i haven’t checked my email for a week
which may be the first time that’s happened since i got my unc email account in the fall of 98. (i’m frightened to check it.)
“you have 272 new messages.” 177 (65%!) were spam.
there was no internet at the condo in killington, so i’ve not been able to tantalize you, dear reader, with tales of my first ski adventure. but i will soon post pictures and tales. here is a taste:

How are those short skis?

dad: muscles not too bad really. quads and triceps hurt the most during, but they’re fine now. twisted my knee the first day, but it stopped aching by the end of the second day.
kristina: having had no experience on any other skis, they were fine. jane and i did see some people sans poles with skis about the size of a pair of rollerblades, which looked very cool.
the one thing i missed most from rollerblading: crossing over (putting one foot in front of the other) to turn or shift balance. on several occasions i subconsciously attempted a crossover (on skis) with catastrophic and hilarious effect. instant wipeout.
